Celebrating Two Years of NMCA: Community, Culture & Legacy
A Celebration of Multicultural Australia at Galaxy Event Center
Galaxy Event Center was honoured to host a very special celebration marking the 2nd Anniversary of NMCA Inc. – NSW Multicultural Communities Association Inc.
The occasion brought together community leaders, supporters, friends and advocates to celebrate two years of meaningful work — building connections, recognising contribution and creating a stronger sense of belonging across multicultural Australia.
The celebration was further honoured by the presence of the Ambassador of Chile to Australia, whose attendance added special significance to an evening celebrating Latin American heritage, migration and multicultural contribution.
Two Years of NMCA
In just two years, NMCA has built something very special: a growing network of people connected by community, culture, inclusion and a desire to make a difference.
Founded by Jeannette and Melissa Oujani, NMCA has created opportunities for communities to come together, recognise people whose contributions can often go unseen, and celebrate the stories and legacies that have helped shape multicultural Australia.
One of NMCA’s significant initiatives, “Our History, Our Legacy,” has highlighted the contribution of first-generation Latin American migrants — recognising those who worked, advocated and opened doors so that future generations could have greater opportunities in Australia.
These stories are more than memories. They are part of Australia’s multicultural story and an important legacy for the generations that follow.
Celebrating People and Their Contributions
For such a young organisation, NMCA has already achieved a great deal.
But perhaps its greatest achievement is the community of friends, supporters, volunteers and organisations that has grown around it.
The anniversary celebration was an opportunity to pause, reflect and acknowledge the people who have contributed to NMCA’s journey — while looking forward to the next chapter.
Galaxy Event Center: A Place for Community
For Galaxy Event Center, hosting celebrations such as this is at the heart of our vision.
As an Indian architect and someone who has experienced the journey of migration and building a life in Australia, I feel particularly honoured to see Galaxy become a space where different cultures, stories and communities can come together.
From cultural celebrations and community gatherings to business events, workshops and milestone celebrations, Galaxy is designed to be a place where people can bring their stories, traditions and ideas and celebrate them their way.
It was a privilege to have NMCA choose Galaxy for this important milestone.
Looking Towards the Future
Two years is only the beginning.
NMCA’s journey demonstrates the importance of preserving history, celebrating diversity and creating opportunities for communities to connect.
Congratulations to Jeannette Oujani, Melissa Oujani and the entire NMCA community on reaching this important milestone.
May the years ahead bring even greater connection, recognition and opportunities to build a lasting legacy for future generations.
Two years of NMCA — celebrating people, preserving stories and building a legacy for generations to come. ❤️
